New Super Mario Forever

Super Mario Bros has been around since the early days of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Today, it is one of the most popular games on Nintendo consoles and mobile gaming platforms. If you wish to see the Italian plumber on your PC, you can play New Super Mario Forever. It is similar to the first Super Mario Bros installment, but it comes with better graphics and the storyline is a bit different.

New Super Mario Forever is a sequel for the first Mario Forever game, so the story is a bit different, as illustrated in the game's intro. Mario has to repel an invasion, by going through a series of dungeons and other environments, with familiar obstacles, like bottomless pits, carnivorous plants and other hazards. Although the Princess Peach does not get kidnapped in the intro, you probably have to save her as well, like in most Mario games.

If you are familiar with the original Super Mario Bros, you will notice that the game's levels are the same. At the beginning of the first level, you can hit the second question mark to find a mushroom, which makes Mario bigger. You can also find the flower, which gives you the possibility of throwing fire balls, in the same place, at the beginning of the second level.

In New Super Mario Forever, a map is displayed between levels, on which you can see Mario going from one area to another. Although you can't interact with it, to choose your next destination, the map gives you a general idea on how the world looks. The controls are the same. You have to jump over enemies to avoid them or jump on them in order to eliminate them. You will encounter a wide variety of enemies, which can be eliminated in different ways.
